| On Saturday 11th March 2000, the
Braes of Derwent Hunt met at the Crown and Cross Swords, Shotley Bridge,
where the hospitality was greatly appreciated by a field of about 25.
The first draw was Shotley Hall on the Shotley Estate, and despite Simon's best efforts, this unfortunately drew blank. We then went up the valley to South Snods, where we found our first fox. Our pilot took us through the Shotley Estate at a fast pace, and up Burnhouse Gill. Then hounds took Charlie into Hammermill and out onto Camperdown, where hounds struggled to pick up the line, despite Simon trying hard, but to no avail. There was luck with Panshields, as a fox was accounted for, however Springwood drew blank, where Simon blew for home at 3.40pm, on a lovely afternoon. SWAMPY AND CO. |
